If your event is a wedding, we can only make a contract with the bride. If you are an event planner (i.e. wedding consultant) please contact us about a special contract. Repertoire selections will be made 30 days in advance of the event in consultation with the ensemble manager. Special repertoire requests are possible for an additional fee. The ensemble will arrive early for the event and be ready to play at the contracted time. Our fee will be based on what is usual and customary for your event, and will include reasonable travel expenses from Nashville, TN. Additional fees may be charged for events far from Nashville. In any case, details about special repertoire, travel, and fees will be agreed upon 30 days before the event and clearly stated in an addendum to the contract. Below is a typical contract. If you have any questions, please call. * CONTRACT * The Fern Hill String Quartet 5845 Nolensville Pike, No.161 Nashville, Tennessee 37211 (281) 757-4248 This is to state that The Fern Hill String Quartet (hereafter 'the ensemble') is contacted to perform: for: date: time: location: inclement location if outdoors: for the total sum of: A non-refundable deposit of $400 will be paid to Deidre Emerson (hereafter 'the manager') to secure the group's services. The date and time will be reserved when the deposit and contract are received by the manager. The remainder is to be paid a minimum of 30 days prior to the event. If the remainder has not been received by such time, the ensemble will consider the performance cancelled. If the manager is contacted before the payment is due and told that it will be late, a $30.00 per day late fee will be added to the balance due. The ensemble is paid for the time required for them to be at the event, whether they are playing or not. Each hour the ensemble is contracted to play consists of fifty minutes of music and ten minutes of break. Performing outdoors must first be discussed with the manager. The ensemble will not play in direct sunlight or expose their instruments to any type of precipitation. Under all circumstances, they will not perform below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. A chair will be provided for each musician. Adequate lighting will be provided for the ensemble. Please discuss any questions with the manager well in advance of the performance. Due to emergency or illness of an original member of the ensemble, professional substitutes are acceptable for an engagement. If the ensemble is requested to extend the playing time at the performance, they will not do so unless payment is made in full at the event for the additional time. If the performance is cancelled less than 30 days before the performance, the ensemble must be paid in full. If the performance is cancelled more than 30 days before the scheduled date, the deposit is non-refundable. However, if the ensemble is unable to attend because of unforeseeable circumstances, the total will be refunded and the ensemble cannot be held liable.
